Born In '93. I distinctly remember getting an N64 when I was 4. It came with SM64 also! I imagine all the kids that used to play and where they are today. I also wonder if they miss this time in their childhood, because I sure as hell do.
I was born in 1998 and for a long period the N64 with SM64 was the only game I owned. Of course I replayed the heck out of it, over and over. This was my introduction to video games and as such has a very special place in my heart. Looking back at it now, the most astonishing and beautiful part is its simplicity. No fancy graphics or animations, just a bunch of barebone polygons. Yet it emits a special charme that high-end, graphically astonishing games nowadays couldn't wish to achieve. Of course if you plug an original N64 into your flat-screen TV now this game looks like ass. But back then this was considered the future. We didn't know what would be possible then, this was considered peak technology. And we were completely satisfied with it. While I'm astonished how technology progressed in the last decades I also miss these simpler times in which video games were considered art, with the intent to establish a piece of history rather than gathering a constant cash flow through your playerbase by tricking them with microtransactions, pre-ordering bonuses, DLCs etc.
When I was 16. I had a friend who was king of the hill. He had a N64, cool parents, and he was a good friend. I cherish the days of this game, and Wave Race, and me getting owned every time in Golden Eye with the bazooka. I failed so bad. But we were teenagers, still with measures of hopes and dreams. I remember those days well. I wish I could return to that at times. Thanks for the music and the nostalgia.

Getting frustrated over the penguin race, but having fun all while doing it. All while thinking about this, I had the best nap ever while this was playing. Thank you.

In 2007 we got an xbox 360 for free from another friend... 2010 rolls by, I go back to the n64. I don't know what it is, but with all the fantastic new games being released for 'bigger' and 'better' consoles, this one silly little console older than I am holds the most special place in my heart, and hundreds of thousands of others.
I'm not sure what the significance of that time stamp is on this footage, but December 27th was my mom's birthday. She once made mention of how calming the music was in this stage. It's been over 11 years since I heard her voice, but this remix and the time stamp triggered that happy memory. So, thank you :)

I was 9 Years old on Dec 27 1997 and I very vividly remember my dad buying the n64 system for me. The first game I ever played on it was Pilot wings but popping in that mario 64 transported me to another realm. My dad would sit and marvel at how far graphics had come, sometimes even join me in gaming. Unfortunately he died 10 years ago - I still think about him daily and this music just teleports me back to those times

Hi! Currently listening to this with earbuds and it sounds very relaxing! I think what would make it sound even better is to add more bass and reduce treble. It will make it sound more chill and the frequency will be a lot easier on the ears. Hope this helps!

@@typhoonthunder Playing a n64 on a CRTV tube tv is very very much worth the experience. Spend a hundred bucks and get a good n64 on ebay :) and find a CRT around your town in a thrift store or on craigslist, they are everywhere still, very cheap
I may have played the Wii U port of Super Mario 64 in 2014, but I can be happy to say that I guess I am part of the nostalgia club! It’s hard to believe that was about 7 years ago...
The Mario noises make me imagine a kid starting up the game, going to Dire Dire Docks and playing for a bit until they collect a star. They’re then called for dinner and leave with the game still running, having Mario fall asleep for a bit. They come back and do another mission of Dire Dire Docks and collect another star. Don’t really know how to incorporate the placeholder Mario voice clip into the story, but y’know.
I miss the good times, when all I had to worry about was school, what cartoons I wanted to watch, and what games I wanted to play. Seriously my life is pure chaos nowadays...young me didn't know what he had.
Mario 64 was the game I wish I could have grown up with. I recently picked it up on the Nintendo Switch, and I am looking forward to experiencing the game for the first time.
Born in 95 I didn’t play this till the early 2000’s with my older brother and cousins when they lived in San Pedro I enjoyed this Mario game so much I promised myself I’d own one then when I was 16 went to a swapmeet bought an n64 with SM64 and Mario Kart 64 and played it all weekend long my little sister wanted to know how to play so I taught her then she bought Pokémon stadium 1 and 2 and she thanked me so much for letting her play my N64 whenever she wanted
This gives me nostalgia for when i was 5, I didn't had a N64, all I had was a NES Clone at my grandmother house and my father java's phone. Had a lot of fun playing Super Mario Bros and Zelda on Java lol I'm not from the 90's but I enjoy these games a lot, Mario 64 is a masterpiece.
There's no magic or poetry to my world anymore, but Dire Dire Docks makes me remember a time when I had so much of both that I didn't know what to do with it. Man. Great stuff, I subscribed.

Sounds good on normal Sony headphones except for that overall "stutter" in many samples but that's only my personal opinion.

@@rikiformusic i've beaten it three times by now on the all-stars version, but i've always wanted to meet someone with an n64 and have the true 90's experience
@@typhoonthunder Playing a n64 on a CRTV tube tv is very very much worth the experience. Spend a hundred bucks and get a good n64 on ebay :) and find a CRT around your town in a thrift store or on craigslist, they are everywhere still, very cheap

I may have played the Wii U port of Super Mario 64 in 2014, but I can be happy to say that I guess I am part of the nostalgia club!

The Mario noises make me imagine a kid starting up the game, going to Dire Dire Docks and playing for a bit until they collect a star. They’re then called for dinner and leave with the game still running, having Mario fall asleep for a bit. They come back and do another mission of Dire Dire Docks and collect another star.
Don’t really know how to incorporate the placeholder Mario voice clip into the story, but y’know.

Mario 64 was the game I wish I could have grown up with. I recently picked it up on the Nintendo Switch, and I am looking forward to experiencing the game for the first time.

Born in 95 I didn’t play this till the early 2000’s with my older brother and cousins when they lived in San Pedro I enjoyed this Mario game so much I promised myself I’d own one then when I was 16 went to a swapmeet bought an n64 with SM64 and Mario Kart 64 and played it all weekend long my little sister wanted to know how to play so I taught her then she bought Pokémon stadium 1 and 2 and she thanked me so much for letting her play my N64 whenever she wanted

This gives me nostalgia for when i was 5, I didn't had a N64, all I had was a NES Clone at my grandmother house and my father java's phone. Had a lot of fun playing Super Mario Bros and Zelda on Java lol
I'm not from the 90's but I enjoy these games a lot, Mario 64 is a masterpiece.
There's no magic or poetry to my world anymore, but Dire Dire Docks makes me remember a time when I had so much of both that I didn't know what to do with it. Man. Great stuff, I subscribed.
